The murals
Large panels in terracotta, ochre and black run the length of the room and frame the DJ booth.
About
Friday and Saturday nights on Upper Arthur Street, for people who care what's in the glass and what's on the speakers.
01The idea
We wanted a room in Belfast that took the records as seriously as the drinks. The residents play here every weekend - deep house, soulful cuts and vocal edits, lo-slung disco, a bit of Italo - and the cocktail list gets the same attention. Two nights a week, over 25s.
The drinks list is short and changes with the seasons. The DJs are residents rather than a rotating bill, so you get to know what each of them plays.
Studio is part of the Thompsons Garage family on Upper Arthur Street, with its own door and its own room: lower light, good glassware, and a booth to sit in.
02The room

Large panels in terracotta, ochre and black run the length of the room and frame the DJ booth.

Fluted walnut, a black stone top and a back bar lit from within. Every bottle on it is there for a reason.

Channel-tufted green velvet along the walls, candlelit tables and table service through the night.

CDJs and a four-channel mixer in a walnut booth between the murals, with the lighting set to the music.
